I have served at Belleville First Nazarene since September 2005, although, my wife, Lynne and I have been familiar with Belleville First since 1982 and have visited many times before receiving a call to serve as the lead pastor.
I was born in Kentucky and spent my teenage years in Pittsburgh, Pa. I love the Steelers, cheer for the Penguins, and pray for the Pirates. Most seasons the Pirates make it easy to be a Cardinal fan no later than June.
I am a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University (B.A. Religion - 1982) and Nazarene Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity – 1986; Doctor of Ministry – 2005). I served as a youth pastor for 11 years in Grand Rapids, MI., and as an associate pastor for over 8 years at Detroit First Church of the Nazarene. I have also worked as a Medical Social Worker in a trauma center in Michigan.
I have been married to Lynne (Quanstrom) since August 1981. We have three children and one son-in-law; Josh & Melissa Nymeyer, Jesse (21), and Isaac (14). A Basenji, named Cash, would be hurt if I did not include him as a part of the family – he is a bit sensitive for a dog. We are expecting to be grandparents sometime in September 2011.
We love our church family, Belleville, and the St. Louis metro area (much easier winters).
